Bank Millennium at the European Economic Congress 2025

Representatives of Bank Millennium invite you to the European Economic Congress 2025. On 23 April we will meet at the International Congress Centre and Spodek in Katowice. There will be three days of fruitful talks and meetings ahead of us. Bank Millennium is a partner of this event.

Bank Millennium speakers will take part in three sessions:

23 April 2025 | 12.30-14.00 Banking sector
João Bras Jorge, Chairman of the Management Board of Bank Millennium

The Polish banking sector compared to other EU countries – its evolution and prospects. Opportunities and readiness as well as conditions and principles for the banking sector to join the financing of new EU programmes of reindustrialisation and increasing the international competitiveness of the economy. Is the Polish banking system overregulated? How can the regulations that affect their customers (among others ESG reporting) affect banks? Tax burdens on Polish banks – is there a chance (necessity?) to reduce them? New investors, effects of repolonisation, room for further consolidation.

23 April 2025 | 14.30-16.00 Europe of the future
João Bras Jorge, Chairman of the Management Board of Bank Millennium

Where are we going? How do we imagine Europe in the perspective of decades? Can the Polish Presidency of the Council of the EU inspire new directions of the Community's development? Competitiveness of the economy, climate neutrality and sustainable development, security and resilience, demography and the labour market – how to implement a set of fundamental tasks at the same time? Democracy cannot be powerless: migration, defence, economic independence as the main areas of European challenges.

23 April 2025 | 14:30-16:00 Banks and ESG
Magdalena Zmitrowicz, Member of the of the Management Board of Bank Millennium

The banking sector as a partner for companies in implementing ESG requirements. Cooperation and education without pressure and control? What does it look like in practice? Are banks ready to implement ESG advisory services? Green strategies and criteria are an opportunity for banks themselves to develop new products, forms of financing and to recruit staff with appropriate competences.

The European Economic Congress (EEC) is the largest business event in Central Europe, covering the full spectrum of issues most important for social and economic development. The seventeenth edition will be held on 23-25 April 2025 at the International Congress Centre in Katowice.
