“Banking without barriers” is one of the main community programmes carried out by Bank Millennium, the aim of which is to eliminate digital and physical barriers in access to financial and non-financial services. Apart from introducing improvements for people with disabilities in access to branches, ATMs, the website as well as method of service, the Bank is also increasing access to mobile solutions. In this way clients can use banking as well as non-banking services, i.a. e-government, buying municipal transport tickets, paying parking charges or motorway tolls, anywhere and anytime.

Bank Millennium extends its concept of a world without barriers to other areas, in which it is active, including culture sponsoring. By providing cinema films with audiodescription during Millennium Docs Against Gravity, Poland’s biggest documentary films festival, it facilitates access to the world of culture for persons with sight impairments. All such solutions fall into the common value creation category - for the company as well as its environment.

Bank Millennium is particularly developing functionalities, which enable remote banking. The Bank’s mobile app and internet banking can be used to easily pay bills, send money to friends or relatives, top-up a phone, pay with Blik for online purchases or handle official business. Recently the Bank also introduced some new solutions, which will allow clients to use the Bank’s services in even greater comfort and safety. Digital development is unavoidable and a responsible company should create technologies, which exert positive influence on their environment.

In current pandemic time Bank Millennium were one of the first banks to introduce the possibility of suspending loan payments for three months, for which customers may apply without leaving home. This applies to cash loans and mortgages. It launched a similar programme of 3-month payment with time shift for microbusinesses and companies. Apart from loans the programme also covers factoring and leasing. The Bank also introduced the opportunity to open a personal account remotely with identity confirmation using Personal ID photos and a selfie. Businesses using corporate banking are encouraged to sign agreements electronically. With breakneck speed the Bank completed work on raising the maximum amount of contactless payments, which do not require PIN authorisation. For more than a month now most cards with the Millennium logo have a limit of 100 PLN. The Bank is taking all these steps with a view to the safety of clients as well as branch staff.

The overriding idea behind the TOP CDR – Digitally Responsible Company competition is Corporate Digital Responsibility, which involves implementation in companies of solutions, which counteract digital exclusion and are user friendly, also supporting the process of digital education. The competition is fostered i.a. by the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Technology, Ministry of Investment and Economic Development, Ministry of Science and Higher Education as well as the National Centre for Research and Development, with its jury comprising representatives of Polish universities. The “Public Choice Award” was given by Internet users in an online vote.
