Accession to the UNGC means a commitment to comply with and implement the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact, covering four key areas in the field of human rights, work standards, environmental protection, counteracting corruption. In 2017, Bank Millennium signed the declaration for the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The Bank's accession to the UNGC is another very important step towards the fullest possible implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

By joining the UN Global Compact, we confirm our commitment to the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact and undertake to continue to set and transparently implement ambitious social, economic and environmental goals. We consistently implement the goals we have set. They have been included both in the Strategy for 2022-2024 “Inspired by people" and in the ESG Strategy covering the same time horizon - said Joao Bras Jorge, Chairman of Bank Millennium. UNGC is the world's largest business sustainability initiative, created by the UN Secretary-General. Currently, UNGC brings together companies from various sectors (over 22,000 entities), including leading financial institutions from around the world. Through cooperation with governments, international organisations, companies and institutions it runs many ambitious actions thus becoming a catalyst of global changes in the area of sustainable development.
