International Business Platform - A new form of supporting customers of Bank on international market

Bank Millennium together with Millennium bcp has launched a new service under the international name of International Business Platform (IBP).

In IBP Bank Millennium will on the one hand support the activity of customers of Millennium bcp (and remaining banks from the Group) in Poland, on the other hand – offering to its customers interested in developing their international business, unique assistance and advice on selected markets, highlighting strong prospects of development in investment and commercial co-operation, as yet relatively little explored by Polish companies.

The above-mentioned markets are especially Portugal and Greece (being in the EU these get priority treatment) but not only that. The International Business Platform of Bank Millennium will also provide Polish enterprises with access to diverse banking and financial services as well as expert advice in the network of 1700 branches of the Group, located in 18 countries on 4 continents. The network includes outlets – apart from Portugal and Greece – i.a. in France, Turkey, USA, China (Macao), Angola and Mozambique.

The support offered in the International Business Platform comprises i.a.:

  • Active search – upon request of customers – of potential commercial partners, interested in doing business with Polish importers or exporters to these countries,
  • Acquiring information and preparing analyses, which are helpful for importers or exporters in initiating or extending commercial relations (comprising not only an analysis of potential of the market or its segment, but also e.g. the area of local regulations, commercial habits, structure of distribution channels etc.),
  • Recommending specific solutions for settlements and financing, including also as regards assessment of reliability of potential partners,
  • Co-operation in the process of seeking partners for investment projects undertaken by Polish companies on these markets as well as arranging relating local services (provided both by banks of the Group as well as external companies),
  • Active co-operation in seeking partners from above countries (especially Portugal and Greece), interested in equity investment activity in Poland, performed e.g. in the form of acquisitions of shares and recapitalising existing enterprises, creating joint ventures or interested in other forms of co-operation.

"Polish products are a big hit not only on European markets. Poland is a valued exporter, but it is increasingly often selected by foreign companies as the country, in which to manufacture their products – the incentives are i.a. competitive manufacturing costs, tax reliefs, highly skilled labour" – said Paweł Rawa, Director of the Financial Institutions Department of Bank Millennium.
"We want the International Business Platform to be a catalyst allowing Polish companies find investors faster and more easily and to establish effective commercial contacts, especially on those markets, whose potential has so far not been sufficiently tapped by them" – added P. Rawa.

The IBP offer of Bank Millennium is available to small and medium enterprises as well as large corporates interested in developing their international operations. To discuss details of the potential relationship in this area Bank Millennium is asking companies to contact their Relationship Managers.
