New image spot of Bank Millennium, patron of the Millennium Docs Against Gravity festival

On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the patronage of the Millennium Docs Against Gravity festival, Bank Millennium has prepared a unique image spot in which it talks about cooperation with the festival over these two decades.

Millennium Docs Against Gravity is the most important cultural project under the Bank's patronage. The Bank is also the founder of the Main Prize, for which the best films of the event compete. MDAG is currently one of the largest film festivals in Poland and the second largest documentary film festival in Europe.

- It has been 20 years of uninterrupted cooperation between the Bank and the festival. Over the years, we have observed together how the world is changing - what brings people together and divides them, what they love and what they fight for, what they are looking for and where they are going. A lot has changed during this time, but one thing has remained unchanged – Bank Millennium's support for Millennium Docs Against Gravity – says Iwona Jarzębska, Director of the Public Relations Department at Bank Millennium. - It is a pride and joy for us to accompany the festival, which has been constantly developing over the years, gaining in importance, to be on the list of festivals qualifying for the Oscar® in the Best Feature Documentary Film category in 2024. Thanks to this, the Grand Prix – Bank Millennium Award, awarded during the festival, has become even more important, because from this year it opens the way to the most important awards in the world of film – adds Iwona Jarzębska.

MDAG plays an extremely important role in a difficult, dynamically changing world, bringing the audience closer to a wide spectrum of contemporary phenomena – from ecology, through politics, psychology, human rights, art (including avant-garde), pop culture and family relations. The festival encourages deep reflection on the state of today's world, touching on the most important and current topics and problems. It is also a space for socially excluded groups, facilitating access to the world of culture and social debate in a very wide range. It is a platform for discussion and exchange of ideas.

The Bank highly appreciates the selection of festival films and the diversity and versatility of the topics they cover. Among them, those related to the protection of the planet – climate and natural environment, diversity, support for local communities – are particularly important to us. These ideas have been with the Bank Millennium Group for a long time.

The history of Bank Millennium is inextricably linked to culture. Right from the very start of its business activity i.e. from close to 40 years, the Bank has been engaged in providing access to and promoting culture in Poland. It supports national and local cultural events. It is a sponsor of culture 360°, it promotes art in almost all its forms, including: film, music, theatre, photography and painting, sculpture, literature and performance. It reaches for niche and popular culture; it is a long-term partner by design. Support in this area remains very important for the Bank.
