Contacless payments up to 100 PLN without PIN in Bank Millennium

Bank Millennium is participating actively in banking sector initiatives, which are aimed at supporting people and the economy in Poland during the coronavirus pandemic. We have completed work on raising the maximum amount of contactless payments, which do not require PIN authorisation, to 100 PLN.

From 20 March the definite majority of our cards will have the limit changed to 100 PLN, all of them within a matter of days. Proper operation of the cards will also depend on how prepared the payment terminal operators are. Some of the cards, to have their limit changed from 50 to 100 PLN, will require 1 transaction to be made with the card being physically inserted into the POS terminal or an ATM – Jacek Pocztarski, Payment Systems Expert in Bank Millennium, said. – It is important to note that tokenised and virtual cards, which allow contactless payments to be made with a phone, do not require any changes to be made and from tomorrow onwards the bank will be fully prepared for the 100 PLN limit with no PIN. Also do bear in mind that the limit does not apply to ApplePay and GarminPay payments, which are available from Bank Millennium. In their case instead of PIN, the device biometrics are used.
