From 19 July, 2022, entrepreneurs can use the new Millennium POS application. It allows you to accept payments using a smartphone or tablet with Internet access. Millennium POS works with Android-powered devices from version 6.X. Thanks to this solution, you can accept contactless transactions with a card, smartphone or other device equipped with an NFC module. Payments in any amount will be accepted, also above the limit of contactless transactions of PLN 100. In this case, the buyer will be asked to enter the PIN code on the screen of the seller's phone or tablet. The whole process is analogous to the one performed in traditional payment terminals. The Millennium POS application guarantees security during every transaction. The highest security standards are confirmed by Visa and Mastercard certificates.

The Millennium POS solution was implemented by Bank Millennium together with its partner - PayTel, a leading payment services provider on the Polish market. With its implementation, entrepreneurs can now use the Non-Cash Transaction Support Programme. The programme offers free use of the application for 5 months and no fees for processing card transactions up to PLN 42,000 for customers who have not had a payment terminal in the last 12 months.

- The mobile revolution, which is a payment terminal in your own smartphone, will primarily benefit entrepreneurs for whom it is important to accept payments at the place of service and who do not want to carry an additional device with them. You can mention here, for example, doctors, taxi drivers or plumbers. This solution is also valued by businesses that focus on quick service and cost optimisation. In addition, the terminal on the phone perfectly fits into the growing willingness of customers to pay with plastic and changes in the law, which since the beginning of this year oblige all companies serving consumers and registering sales at cash registers to enable the customer to make payments in a non-cash form– says Anna Wydrzyńska-Czosnyka, head of the Biznes Client Sub-unit at Bank Millennium.
