Success of the sports and green initiative of Bank Millennium Group employees. By performing various activities, they raised money for the implementation of green projects under the banner of the Bank Millennium Foundation.

The Our People'23: Save the Planet! initiative lasted two months and ended on June 25. Over 1.5 thousand employees of Bank Millennium Group took part. They competed individually and in 93 teams. In total, they burned 18 million kcal, covered over 130,000 kilometres on foot, over 180,000 on wheels. They recorded a total of over 12,000 exercises. They ran, swam, walked, practiced yoga, rode bicycles, etc., there were over 50 different types of sports to choose from. The points gained were converted into zlotys, which were credited to the Bank Millennium Foundation account. Progress could be followed on an ongoing basis in the Activy application section intended for employees. The planned collection goal (250,000 PLN) was achieved in just 55 days.

The action was accompanied by internal challenges and competitions aimed at integrating the banking community. A promotional video was also prepared, in which the leading roles were played by Bank Millennium employees. The ambassadors engaged the community around the initiative and shared their energy and passion - sporting achievements. The material was published in internal and external channels of Bank Millennium and Bank Millennium Foundation.

- The plan to collect a certain amount was fulfilled in a shorter time than we expected and this is very good information. We have managed not only to encourage employees to be more physically active than on a daily basis, but also to pay attention to the protection of the natural environment. These issues are extremely important for Bank Millennium. We devote a lot of attention to green initiatives, reducing own emissions and effective resources management. Now, thanks to the collected funds, we are starting another great project related to eco-volunteering – announces Iwona Jarzębska, Chairwoman of the Bank Millennium Foundation.

In the next release of the eco-volunteering project, bank employees will be able to submit their own initiatives to protect the planet. The Bank Millennium Foundation will support implementation of the most valuable ideas with funds collected as part of the Our People'23: Save the Planet! action. The Foundation has been working for the benefit of the environment and the community for many years. It carries out a number of different types of initiatives. In total, representatives of Bank Millennium spent nearly 2,000 hours on pro bono activities in 2022. They brought help to our neighbours from across the Eastern border, organising collection points, delivering meals and basic necessities, as well as supporting the arrangement of accommodation and places for children from Ukrainian orphanages, helping in finding a job, translations or education. Since 2016 the Foundation has been carrying out the free proprietary programme for kindergartens “Financial ABCs”. In March, it launched registration for its eleventh edition, under which it plans to organise about 200 workshops. From the beginning of the programme, the Foundation organised over 27,000 workshops and trained 68,000 children in kindergartens throughout Poland.
