Bank Millennium employees are starting the next stage of the sports and ecological challenge as part of the Our People'23: Save the Planet campaign. After the sports competition and collecting PLN 250,000 for the Bank Millennium Foundation, the time has come for eco-volunteering. Each employee can take part in a grant competition and submit their idea for the implementation of an ecological project.

The Bank Millennium Foundation has announced a grant competition for the bank's employees, in which everyone can try their hand at volunteering. All you must do is gather a team, submit, and present your idea for an action to protect the planet, and then the Bank Millennium Foundation will support the implementation of the most valuable ideas with the funds that have been collected as part of the Our People'23: Save the Planet campaign. What counts is creativity, commitment of a group of colleagues and, above all, a positive, thoughtful, and long-lasting impact of the action on the protection of the environment and the planet.

– Promoting the idea of employee volunteering and protecting the planet are two particularly important issues for our bank. We combine them in the new edition of the Bank Millennium Foundation programme. So far, volunteering actions have enjoyed great commitment of employees, focusing, among others, on helping people suffering from the pandemic, and last year on helping refugees from Ukraine. Over the next three months, as part of the Our People'23: Save the Planet campaign, we want to give employees from all over Poland the opportunity to decide on their own eco-initiative, best suited to the needs of their local community and the possibilities of implementation. In the joint action, our volunteer employees will strive for one goal – to protect the planet and to protect the environment, which is a goal particularly important for future generations as well as for our present life, health, and well-being – comments Iwona Jarzębska, Chairwoman of the Bank Millennium Foundation.

The first sports part of the Our People'23: Save the Planet campaign was attended by over 1.5 thousand employees of Bank Millennium Group. In total, they burned 18 million kcal, covered over 130,000 kilometres on foot, over 180,000 on wheels. They registered a total of over 12,000 exercises from over 50 different types of sports. The points gained were converted into PLN and credited to the Bank Millennium Foundation account. The assumed collection goal, i.e. PLN 250,000, was achieved in just 55 days.

The Bank Millennium Foundation has been working for the benefit of the environment and society for many years. It implements a number of various aid and educational initiatives. In 2022 alone, Bank Millennium volunteers devoted nearly 2,000 hours to pro bono activities as part of the Foundation's initiatives, including aid activities for refugees from Ukraine and the free, original financial education programme for preschoolers "Financial ABCs".
